Call for applications: FACE NDC Student Industrial Attachment
The Copperbelt University through the School of Natural Resources is one of
the five consortium partners (FAO, UNITAR, UNZA and UNESCO) in the
FACE-NDC Project which will run from 2023 to 2030, with FAO as the lead
partner and funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German
Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. One of the
objectives of the project involves strengthening institutional, technical, and
human capacities in Zambia in the field of renewable energy and energy
efficiency for agrifood and forestry value chains, as climate change mitigation
options. One of the activities to achieve this objective, involves supporting
student industrial placements to partners companies in renewable energy and
climate change. This activity is aimed at contributing to enhanced practical
skills for the students.
Call for Applications for Student Industrial Attachment Support
The Copperbelt University hereby invites applications from eligible students
for the FACE NDC support for industrial attachment.
A total of 10 attachment support opportunities are available for third year
students.
This opportunity is open to students enrolled in the following programmes in
the School of Natural Resources:
BSc Bioenergy, BSc Forestry, BSc Agroforestry, BSc Plant and Environmental
Sciences, and BSc Sustainable Natural Resources Management and Climate
Change. Recipients of the industrial attachment support are expected to
undertake the industrial placement for a period of 2 months effective 12th
October 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
The call is open to students, who:
• Are Zambian nationals only with a valid National Registration Card
(NRC).
• Are registered students in the School of Natural Resources (BSc
Bioenergy, BSc Forestry, BSc Agroforestry, BSc Plant and
Environmental Sciences, and BSc Sustainable Natural Resources
Management and Climate Change).
• Are in the third (3rd) year of study in the just ended 2025/2026
academic year.
• Have obtained an overall merit classification for the 1st and 2nd year
of study results combined.
The support will be awarded to at least 50% qualified female applicants,
therefore, females are strongly encouraged to apply.
Requirements:
1. A motivation letter for seeking the industrial support.
2. An official academic transcript outlining results for the 1st and 2nd years
of study.
3. A curriculum vitae demonstrating academic readiness, potential and
willingness to learn in a professional environment.
4. Copy of valid National Registration Card (NRC).
Value of the Industrial Attachment Support
Successful applicants will receive:
• A monthly allowance of K1,500, payable for each of the two months of
the placement.
• Practical work experience, professional mentorship and skills
development in organizations operating in renewable energy, climate
change, forestry, environmental sustainability and related sectors.
Accommodation is not covered in the industrial attachment support.
Therefore, applications are strongly encouraged from students who can
arrange for own accommodation in any of the following placement towns;
Lusaka, Kitwe, Batoka, Katete, Chipata and Solwezi.

Submission Method: Applications shall be made through Email only as a

face-ndc@fao.org. The single pdf file should be named as follows: Applicant’s
last name_Industrial attachment 2026. The email subject line should be
clearly titled: industrial attachment 2026.

Incomplete applications or applications that do not include all required
supporting documents will not be considered.
Shortlisting of applicants will be done within one week of the closing date
which is 1st October. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel
consisting of members of staff from CBU, FAO and the Host Companies.
All candidates will be informed of the outcome of their application. The
University will also publish the list of selected candidates on the University’s
website and other official social media platforms.
