ADVERTISEMENT FOR ADMISSIONS FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC YEAR TO COMMENCE IN JANUARY 2027 UNDER THE MICHAEL CHILUFYA SATA SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
The Copperbelt University invites applications for the Academic Year 2026/2027 starting in January 2027 to be undertaken at the Michael Chilufya Sata School of Medicine in Ndola in the following degree programmes under self-sponsorship:


1. Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (6 years)
Admission Criteria
• Applicants with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Sciences (Biologyand/or Chemistry) or a health-related field with a minimum of a Credit or better shall be admitted into second year.
• Applicants with ‘A’ Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics from The Copperbelt University or a recognised University/Institution with an average grade of B+ or better shall be admitted into second year.
• Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject.

2. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (6 years)
Admission Criteria
• Applicants with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Sciences (Biology and/or Chemistry) or a health-related field with a minimum of a Credit or better shall be admitted into second year.
• Applicants with a Diploma in Dentistry/Dental Science or equivalent from an approved Dental Training Institution shall be admitted into second year.
• Applicants with ‘A’ Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics from The Copperbelt University or a recognised University/Institution with an average grade of B+ or better shall be admitted into second year.
• Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject.


3. Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine (4 years)
Admission Criteria

• Applicants with a Diploma in Clinical Sciences or Registered Nursing with an average graduation grade of B or better shall be admitted into the second year.
• Registration with HPCZ and a minimum of 2 years of working experience.
• Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject.

4. Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences (5 years)
Admission Criteria

Successful applicants will be admitted at two different levels as follows:


Level 1: Second year entry:
• Applicants with an Advanced Certificate or a Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of a Credit or better and have two years’ work experience.
• Applicants with ‘A’ Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics from Copperbelt University or from a recognised University/Institution with an average grade of B or better.
• Applicants should also have at least 5 ‘O’ Levels including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject.


Level 2: Third year entry:
• Applicants with a Diploma in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of a Credit or better.
• Candidates should also have at least 5 ‘O’ Levels including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject.


5. Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health (5 years)
Admission Criteria

Successful applicants will be admitted at two different levels as follows:
Level 1: Second year entry:
• Applicants with ‘A’ Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics from Copperbelt University or from a recognised University/Institution with an average grade of B or better.
• Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject.

Level 2: Third year entry:
• Applicants with a relevant Diploma such as Public Health or Environmental Health.
• Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject at Grade 12.

6. Bachelor of Science in Public Health (5 years)
Admission Criteria

Successful applicants will be admitted at two different levels as follows:

Level 1: Second year entry:
• Applicants with ‘A’ Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics from Copperbelt University or from a recognised University/Institution with an average grade of B or better.
• Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject at Grade 12.

Level 2: Third year entry:
• Applicants with a Diploma from a recognised University or College in the field of Biological Science, Medicine, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine/Science, Statistics, Demography, Food Science, Public Health or any other related field of study.
• Applicants with a Diploma in Medical, Nursing and Veterinary Sciences with at least two (2) years of related medical or veterinary experience will have an added advantage.
• Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject at Grade 12.

7. Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy (5 years)
Admission Criteria

Successful applicants will be admitted at two different levels as follows:
Level 1: Second year entry:
• Applicants with ‘A’ Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics from Copperbelt University or from a recognised University/Institution with an average grade of C+ or better.
• Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject at Grade 12.

Level 2: Fourth year entry:
• Applicants with a Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution, and with working experience of 3 years and above, shall be admitted into the fourth year.
• Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject.

8. Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (5 years)
Admission Criteria

Successful applicants will be admitted at two different levels as follows:

Level 1: Second year entry:
• Applicants with ‘A’ Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics from Copperbelt University or from a recognised University/Institution with an average grade of C+ or better.
• Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject at Grade 12.

Level 2: Fourth year entry:
• Applicants with a Diploma in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy from a recognized institution, and with working experience of 3 years and above, shall be admitted into the fourth year.
• Applicants should have obtained five (5) O Level Credits or better, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Science (Physics and Chemistry) and any other subject.

Female applicants and candidates living in rural areas of Zambia are especially encouraged to apply.
Method of Application
Candidates are requested to apply online by logging on to the Copperbelt University website at www.cbu.ac.zm and clicking the online application link. Applicants are further advised to complete and submit the form online, and thereafter print the ZANACO student Bill Muster form. This is what will be used to make a payment of K200.00 at any Zambia National Commercial Bank Branch (ZANACO).
