2026 Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements

1. MSc in Mathematics/Science Education

(Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)

Applicants must possess one of the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Science with Education from a recognized university.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Science without Education, plus at least one year teaching experience.


2. MSc in Mathematics, Natural Sciences or Computer Science

Applicants must have:

  • A Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with majors in Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or Computer Science from a recognized university.

Note: Candidates with Education-based degrees are not eligible for pure Science/Mathematics programmes.
These requirements also apply to MPhil programmes.


3. Master of Philosophy (MPhil)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university.

  • Programme is research-based and designed to build research capacity or prepare candidates for PhD studies.


4. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Applicants must have:

  • A relevant Master’s degree from a recognized university.

  • A draft research proposal in the intended area of study.


School of Business Programmes

MSc in Project Management

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • A first degree with at least 2 years work experience

  • A postgraduate diploma with at least 2 years experience

  • Professional qualifications (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, EIZ, SIZ, ZIA, CIOB, RICS, RIBA)


MBA – Banking and Finance

Applicants must have:

  • A good first degree (Credit or better) in Business, Accounting, Commerce, or Economics + 2 years experience, OR

  • A degree in another field + 3 years experience, OR

  • Professional qualifications such as CIMA or ACCA


Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Applicants must have:

  • A relevant degree with at least 2 years work experience, OR

  • A non-business degree with at least 3 years experience

  • Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis


Programme Structure & Duration

  • MSc & MPhil:

    • Minimum: 2 years | Maximum: 4 years

    • Phase I: Coursework (12–18 months)

    • Phase II: Research & Dissertation (6–12 months)

  • MPhil:

    • Research-based only

  • PhD:

    • Minimum: 3 years | Maximum: 6 years

    • Research-based with thesis
